A very small number of Tempo-X SATA 4+4 users have reported a condition in which connected drives installed in an external case intermittently do not appear when their computer is booted.

To address this issue, update the Tempo-X SATA 4+4 card's firmware to version 1.0.1 or later by downloading and running the latest Tempo-X firmware updater.
 
219 With a Tempo-X SATA host controller installed and drives connected, the computer locks up and will not respond to keyboard or mouse input, and must be forced to power off (press and hold the power button for more than 5 seconds) then restarted.May-07-09
This condition occurs when the System Preferences Energy Saver Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible checkbox is checked (on), or the Disk Sleep Timer is enabled; the Tempo-X SATA card using firmware version 1.2 does not support disk sleep.

To correct this issue, update the Tempo-X card's firmware to version 2.0 or later. Download and run the installer to add disk sleep support.
