First let us state that we do not recommend removing the Apple MPX video card, because it provides the display signals to the built-in Thunderbolt ports through its custom rear connector. Second, you need to purchase the GPU card bundle with the Mac Pro cable kit to provide sufficient power to the Sonnet card.
There are two possibilities to install two 6900 XT GPU cards:
If you have a single-width Apple MPX card, like the 580X or W5500X, you can install two Sonnet cards in slot 2 and 4, leaving slots 6 and 7 free.
