1015 Can I connect a Solo10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition Adapter to a Thunderbolt 2 Mac?May-13-22
Thunderbolt 2 does not have enough power to directly connect a Thunderbolt 3 bus-powered device like the Solo10G Thunderbolt 3 adapter. However, you can connect the Solo10G if you have an intermediate Thunderbolt 3 device in the chain that is wall-powered, for example the Sonnet Echo 11 Dock.

Thunderbolt 2 Mac----Apple TB 3 (USB-C) to TB 2 Adapter----Wall-powered Thunderbolt 3 Device----Solo10G Thunderbolt 3 Edition

Note that the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter is reversible and will support a Thunderbolt 2 Mac and a Thunderbolt 3 device (as well as a Thunderbolt 3 Mac and a Thunderbolt 2 device).

4) Select each location except Automatic and click "-" to delete.
5) Click Apply.
6) Delete each of your 10GbE Network Ports by selecting each of them and clicking "-".
7) When you see the dialog box asking if you would like the controllers to return, click No.
8) Click Apply.
9) Click + to add your 10GbE networks connections.
10) Set them up from your notes.
11) Click Apply.
12) Wait five minutes for the system to refresh the settings.

If that doesn't work, delete the following two files with the terminal commands:

1123 I upgraded macOS Big Sur to version 11.1, and my Solo10G stopped working.May-13-22
This update corrupts the network settings. To recover, you need to delete the network plists and recreate your network settings.

Launch Terminal and type the following:
sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkPreferences.plist
sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist

Restart and recreate your network settings.
If that doesn't work, contact support@sonnettech.com. Be sure to save and send a System Report.

In some rare circumstances, the Solo10G will not function connected to a particular Thunderbolt port. Try plugging into a different Thunderbolt port on the computer. For example, you must plug into the furthest back Thunderbolt port in an HB Z Book Studio G5.
