52 Can I boot Mac OS X from a drive set to Slave on a Tempo ATA or Tempo Trio card?Jul-22-09
164 Hard drives connected to a Tempo ATA100 installed in Power Mac G4 (Quicksilver 2002) models cannot be selected for use as a startup disk. When you attempt to select a drive connected to the Tempo ATA100 under the Startup Disk control panel, the system will freeze.May-07-09
The Open Firmware that shipped on the affected systems was not compatible with the firmware on the Tempo ATA100, causing conflicts that prevent booting from drives attached to the Tempo ATA100. This issue affects any Tempo ATA100 card, using firmware prior to version 2.2.3, installed in one of the affected systems.

Users who encounter this issue should download and run the Firmware Updater for Tempo ATA100.

This Sonnet firmware update enables the Tempo ATA100 to support booting from attached drives when the card is installed in Power Mac G4 (Quicksilver 2002) models.
