| Yes, but it depends on the computer's operating system (Mac OS or Windows). Sonnet Tempo SATA PCIe, PCI-X, PCI, and ExpressCard/34 cards support drive hot swapping only when used in Mac computers running Mac OS. SATA drive hot swapping is not supported in a desktop or server PC running Windows XP, Server 2003, or Vista. A SATA drive appears to Windows as a fixed hard drive and there is no mechanism in Windows to prepare the drive for removal except in notebook computers.
Tempo SATA and SATA Pro ExpressCard/34 cards support drive hot swapping in both Mac and Windows notebook computers. |

| When attempting to connect a Sonnet Tempo eSATA locking cable to a Tempo SATA E4P card in an Xserve, the locking connector housing may not fit in the tight space at the rear of the Xserve. To properly connect the cable, simply remove the locking housing from the connector end (two screws) and it will fit. |

| Sonnet Tempo cards are compatible with most external SATA storage. However, external hard drives with USB 2.0/eSATA dual interface based on the Oxford Semiconductor OXU931DS storage controller chip may not be compatible with Mac OS X when connected via SATA. Known issues are kernel panics occurring when the drive is connected, or the drive not being recognized by the operating system.
