| My Camera and hard drive don't work together. Why not? | Apr-03-23 |
| Applies to theThe Yin-Yang FireWire hub or a 2-port FireWire 800 ExpressCard/34.
Some cameras, notably older Canon cameras, are not compatible with other FireWire devices that include a FireWire hub. Note that hubs are built into most FireWire hard drives with 2- or 3- FireWire ports. The result is that only one device may be seen by the computer. There is an old forum on this issue here: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-gl-series-dv-camcorders/49843-canons-official-word-their-firewire-issues.html
You may always connect two FireWire hard drives of any kind without a problem. You may connect a cranky camera plus a FireWire 800 drive that has only a single FireWire 800 port without a problem.
