| My Dual Display Port Thunderbolt 3 Adapter is not permitting 5k resolution on macOS. | Sep-06-17 |
| The MacBook Air (2017) does not support 5k. If you have a Mac that supports a 5k monitor, two DisplayPort cables are required to connect between the adapter and the monitor.
5K may be a hidden resolution in macOS, so you may need to unhide it.
1. Connect your 5k monitor with two DisplayPort cables. The monitor should appear, albeit with lower resolution than 5k.
2. Open System Preferences. Open Displays.
3. On the Displays window that appears on your 5k monitor, option-click Scaled. All the hidden resolutions will be displayed.
4. Select 5120x2880. |

| My Thunderbolt 3 to Dual DisplayPort Adapter is not working on my Windows PC. | Aug-19-17 |
| 1. Check that you are connected to a Thunderbolt 3 port. This adapter will not work on a USB-C port that is not Thunderbolt 3.
2. Update the Thunderbolt software on your Thunderbolt 3 computer.
3. Update your motherboard BIOS or UEFI.
4. Update you OS to the current version.
5. If it is still not working, check whether your computer's Thunderbolt 3 port supports 15W devices or how many 15W devices are supported. The Sonnet Thunderbolt 3 to Dual DisplayPort Adapter requires 15W. Some computers provide 15W on only a limited number of Thunderbolt 3 ports.
For example, MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) and MacBook (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) can power two devices that use up to 15 watts, and two more devices that use up to 7.5 watts. It doesn't matter which side of your MacBook Pro that they're connected to--power is delivered on a first-come, first-served basis. MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 Ports) can power one device that uses up to 15 watts and one device that uses up to 7.5 watts. |

| My Dual DisplayPort or Dual HDMI Adapter stopped working after the macOS 10.15.6 update. | Mar-30-20 |
| If you have a Mac with the T2 security chip:
iMac Pro
Mac Pro introduced in 2019
Mac mini introduced in 2018
MacBook Air introduced in 2018 or later
MacBook Pro introduced in 2018 or later
The Sonnet Dual DisplayPort or Dual HDMI Adapter may stop working after the 10.15.6 update. You can try using the Startup Security Utility to set External Boot to "Allow booting from external media." If this is already set, you must set it to "Disallow booting from external media", restart, then set to "Allow booting from external media", and restart.
This issue does not affect all configurations and we cannot reproduce the issue. Please let us know whether you have this issue and whether this procedure solves it for you. |
